As corporate vice president for Microsoft's Human Resources Talent & Organization Capability group, Scott Pitasky is responsible for global staffing, talent management, development, organization capability and aspects of the company's learning agenda. This broad role includes all efforts to establish Microsoft's employment brand, acquire talent anywhere in the world, and once acquired manage and develop people to achieve their fullest potential. This work spans the employee and manager population up to and including work with the senior leadership team and Board of Directors.
Pitasky came to Microsoft in August 2001, and has served as director, senior director and general manager of MSN, the Server & Tools group and Global Staffing, respectively.
Before joining Microsoft, Pitasky served as vice president and senior director of Human Resources at Amazon.com in Seattle, where he was responsible for global HR and staffing, managing a team of more than 100 professionals. During his tenure, the company grew from 1,000 to 8,000 employees, launched operations in multiple countries, entered into several partnerships and acquisitions.
Prior to Amazon.com, Pitasky was a principal at iQuantic, Inc., a San Francisco-based HR consulting firm focused on compensation and organizational development for technology companies. Prior to iQuantic, Pitasky was director of human resources for AlliedSignal Inc. (now Honeywell), where he worked as part of a global manufacturing organization to learn and deploy a Six Sigma approach to talent and operational challenges. The AlliedSignal approach was patterned after the GE HR model for leadership development and talent management.
After completing his Bachelor of Science in Engineering in finance and management from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, he began his career as an investment banker with Citicorp and moved on to work as a strategy consultant for Corporate Decisions, Inc., in Boston, Mass.

James is head of Talent Acquisition at CERN. With over 20 years’ experience in modernisation and process improvement, working with web technologies almost from their inception, James was previously head of the Internet Development Services group where he was responsible for a wide range of innovative web based solutions at CERN. In 2007 he made the move from IT to HR to join the new HR management team in implementing CERN’s modern HR strategy. James is passionate about recruitment. Sari Lehkonen - European Personnel Selection Office - European Union Sari Lehkonen holds an MA in French, Communication and Political Science from the University of Helsinki (1995) and a Post-Graduate Certificate in HRM from the University of Kingston in London (2012).
She joined the European public service in Brussels in 1996. Through her various positions, she has developed solid expertise in the management of human and financial resources, as well as in promoting the European Union to specialized audiences and citizens. Annemarie Malchow-Knudsen is currently Organizational Development Expert in Maersk Drilling with responsibility for employee engagement and employer branding. The common thread in her work is a constant focus on building relationships – with and between existing employees as well as with potential candidates.
The digital channels open a world of opportunities in this respect, and Annemarie is behind most of Maersk Drilling’s recent technological initiatives to create forums for interaction between employees and candidates. She spent the first ten years working for recruitment agencies covering Ireland, the UK and eventually EMEA. Within that time Anne-Marie focused exclusively on finding talent for clients in the IT arena offering Permanent, Contract, Temporary and Managed Services to several multinationals based in EMEA.
Over the past ten years Anne-Marie has grown the recruitment team with Oracle in EMEA from 10 recruiters to a current team of over 100 recruiters and resourcers, and in that time has reduced the use of agencies from 65% to 3% whilst winning many service delivery awards from the business. Her team recruits for all lines of business for Oracle in EMEA.
Alan is a strategy consultant for Recruitment Challenges, Talent Acquisition, Candidate Experience, Employment Brand, Recruitment and Social Media. Over the last 15 years, Alan has been one of the leaders in the UK and Europe providing strategic and practical insights to defining, selecting and implementing technology solutions for Human Resource and Recruitment Process activities. He works with corporate recruitment and talent management teams as well as recruitment agencies and RPO businesses to ensure that their technology and processes align to deliver the right candidates and the right clients in a timely and cost-effective manner.
Alan founded RCEURO.com to partner and stimulate debate, best practices and knowledge sharing within the EMEA Recruitment community.
Most recently, Alan is taking on the role of Operations Director of the Direct Employers Association Europe, the first UK based Trade Association created for hiring organisations with a specific focus on the Talent Acquisition/Resourcing function and the in-house professionals who deliver the recruitment agenda.
With a background in Recruiting Jochem is a contracting HRIT Consultant managing HR/IT implementations within ING bank for the past 3 years. Amongst many aother projects he implemented Taleo Recruiting within ING Bank in the Netherlands and recently deliverd a Recruitment selfservice concept within the organisation.
